Online Project Management – Creative Ideas for Using Online Project Management

Online project management is not just for businesses anymore. With the right training and by thinking outside of the box, there are many creative ways to use these types of systems to help manage everyday life. From team management to school projects and everything in between, these systems are very flexible and therefore can be used for many purposes. It may take some thought as to how to utilize an online system for various projects, but it will almost always offer a great benefit for the entire project team in the end.

Some examples of creative uses for online project management systems include:

* Classroom Management- Teachers can utilize online systems to keep parents or even older students abreast of what is going on. By uploading a syllabus or a list of current skills being worked on, homework assignments, or upcoming projects, parents and students can stay abreast of what is going on and where they stand.

* Churches and Other Organizations- Committee heads can manage all kinds of projects using online programs for such as this. Committees for fundraising can use them to assign tasks to committee members and to keep up with the progress of the campaign. This can save time by reducing or eliminating the need for face to face meetings. It also eliminates time wasted by chatting at such meetings.

* Families can utilize online project management systems to manage daily life. Shared calendars are great for spouses and older children to see what is happening each day. Charts and other tools can be used for everyone to see progress toward certain goals such as saving for a vacation. Parents can even hand down chores regardless of where children are as long as they have internet access.

The possibilities are endless with just a little creativity and some time spent setting up for the system for the particular situation. Of course some time may have to be spent training if not everyone involved is familiar with the software. There is some cost-benefit analysis required with this, but very often it will be worth it to utilize an online project management system in most any circumstance or situation.

So often time is unnecessarily wasted because the usefulness of these programs is not fully understood. Taking some time to get familiar with and use the software before throwing everyone into the fire is the best way to make sure that the project runs smoothly and that all features of the software are used to their full capacity.
